Sponsor Information

Arlington Academy of Hope is excited to our annual 5K race and Children's Fun run! This year is extra special, as we are celebrating our 15th anniversary! The race will be held in scenic, paved Bluemont Park trail in Arlington, VA on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. The Fun Run will begin at 8:45 a.m. We hope you will join us in sponsoring the Arlington Academy of Hope (AAH) schools and students in Uganda! Please see the next page for levels of sponsorship.

The Arlington Academy of Hope (AAH) is an Arlington based non-profit organization that was founded by John and Joyce Wanda, who grew up in Uganda. After winning a diversity lottery visa, they came to the U.S. and settled in Arlington. Their children benefited from Arlington Public Schools’ system, and John and Joyce wanted to provide a similar experience for the children in their native Uganda. In 2004, they opened a primary school. They have since built two health clinics. They also provide scholarships for secondary school students in order to continue their education beyond primary school. Proper education and healthcare, local development, and community outreach will improve the quality of life, and AAH has set high goals for Uganda! Learn more about our great charity at www.aahuganda.org.

We will contribute all race proceeds to the Arlington Academy of Hope to assist in building a healthy educational environment for their schools and outreach programs in Uganda. Donations support tuition, materials, teachers, infrastructure, and healthcare for these Ugandan students. Prior race proceeds allowed us a build a first ever kitchen and library at one of our outreach schools: Matuwa Primary School. Students there now have access to food during the school day and new reading materials! We can’t wait to further our efforts in Uganda and continue down this path of success.

Your donation is tax deductible and would be invaluable to the Arlington Academy of Hope school programs in Uganda. Sponsors receive an array of promotional and marketing exposure with various levels of giving. We hope that you are willing to support us by sponsoring our run. We are happy to accept sponsorships from businesses as well as individuals/families.

Thank you!
